Hi! I'm a graduate student at Balliol College, Oxford, studying for the BPhil in Philosophy. My research focuses mainly on classical field theories (construed broadly) and theoretical equivalence, with occasional forays into symmetries and quantum theory. I am currently working on projects understanding the structure of natural theories, constructing an ultra-relativistic geometric trinity of gravity, and exploring the implications of the kinematics-dynamics distinction for the study of gauge theories, principle theories/constructive axiomatics, and inter-theoretic reduction.

Outside of philosophy of physics/science, I'm working on a project understanding the emergence of self-doubt in epistemic networks.

In September 2025, I will be joining the PhD program at the Department of Logic and Philosophy of Science at UC Irvine.

Prior to the BPhil, I did the MPhysPhil in Physics and Philosophy (also at Balliol). The topic of my undergraduate thesis was the relationship between Newton-Cartan theory and Maxwell gravitation.

In my free time, I enjoy playing chamber music with friends, singing in Balliol choir, swimming, roller-blading, painting, sketching, pen and ink work, embroidery, and crochet. I work at a bakery back home during the long vac, so you can often find me whipping up a batch of brownies or cinnamon rolls for study fuel.

My Erdős number is 4.

My Linnemann number is 2.
